As you will see above, this would be the type of set up I would want in my classroom.

Area 1: This would be an area where students could display their work. Writing Reading Workshops emphasize the importance of students publishing their work, so this would give them an area where they can use resources in order to display their work in class and publish their work for a broader audience. This area would also be used for announcements, missed work, and homework turn in.

Area 2: This area would be used for resources as well as writing workshops. I want to have the opportunity to work with students, so this area could be used for this. On the shelves in this area, students would find resources related to writing that they can use to aid them in the process.

Area 3: This area is all about students. I choose to use tables for students because I feel that group work is essential in a middle school classroom, so using tables just makes sense.

Area 4: This area includes a white board/smartboard, projector, and television. This is the area that will be used when I need to be in front of the students, guiding them into learning. Many times announcemenets come on in the morning, such as anti-bullying videos. This area is placed where all students can see, and take in the information being presented.

Area 5: The is the library area of the classroom. There is a great number of bookcases and shelves in order for students to have ample amounts of different sorts of literature. I would like a library in my classroom stocked full of books and resources for students to find books, such as a binder full of book reviews. I love the idea of having bean bag chairs that way students can get comfortable in order to read.

Area 6: The computer area in the classroom can be used for classwork, finding new information, etc. during class.

Area 7: The storage area in the classroom will be used for paper, pencils, and other needed items for classwork and projects. Students can use the storage area when they have class time to work on assignments.

Area 8: More shelves! More resources! This area would be used for additional resources that students may need, including extra resources to help individual students.
